Meditating on God’s Word, I pray:
O LORD, “Day and night You give me over to torment;
I cry out until the dawn.
Like a lion You break all my bones;
Day and night You give me over to torment.
Like a swallow I utter shrill cries;
I moan like a dove.
My eyes grow weak, gazing heaven-ward:
O LORD, I am in straits, be my surety.”
(Isaiah 38:13-14)
I don’t know how to live.
What does this mean?
This world is death;
my own life seems like death.
It’s a bottomless pit, I fear.
But, “It’s not the netherworld that gives You thanks,
nor death that praises You. [it cannot!]
Neither do those who go down into the pit
await Your kindness.” [they cannot!]
Help me get to a place where I can truly declare:
“The living, the living give You thanks,
as I do today.
The LORD is my Savior.
I sing in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life.”
(Isaiah 38:18-19)
You are faithful, O LORD,
even when I am not.
This are such beautiful words of encouragement. ❤️
